Deputy Head of Statistics, ICTU
Victoria Cornelius is Deputy Head of Statistics in ICTU and Senior Lecturer in Clinical Trials. She joined Imperial in February 2016 from King’s College London where she was Deputy Director for Research Design Service and affiliated statistical lead for King’s Clinical Trials Unit. Prior to this she worked as a senior statistician in the Biomedical Research Unit at Southampton University and at the Center for Statistics in Medicine in Oxford. Her methodological interests include the collection, selection and presentation of harm information for drug trials and signal detection methodology to identify adverse drug reactions in electronic healthcare records.
Her collaborative research includes both early and late phase clinical trials predominantly in auto-immune diseases and surgery funded by the NIHR. Victoria is Chair of the NIHR Statistics Steering Group and co-lead for the Group which she established in 2011 with the support of NOCRI. The Group currently hosts four research sections undertaking collaborative research. She leads one of the early phase clinical trial working groups and is a statistical editor for Thorax.
