Database analysis/literature review
Sometimes a research question can be answered effectively through well-designed database analysis or literature review, without the need for an interventional study. Examples of analysis of this kind conducted by ICTU include
1. Do fixed dose combinations actually result in increased compliance? |
2. Are some antihypertensive regimens associated with an increased risk of treatment-emergent cancer? |
3. Are there significant differences in antihypertensive response among patients of different ethnic backgrounds? |
4. What risk do statins present in high-risk cardiovascular patients with chronic kidney disease? |
